Board of Directors
Adam Mahoney
President
Adam is a California native who joined the GGC in 2014 after buying his first BMW and has since participated in every event the chapter offers. He loves that GGC provides members with so many opportunities to meet great people, share their passion for the BMW brand with other enthusiasts, and learn how to become a better driver. His favorite past time are track days and exploring new backroads throughout the state in his BMW M3.
Mike Gessner
Vice President
Mike joined the CCA in 2010 and GGC in 2017, starting off with a ///M Club day at the Performance Center in South Carolina and transitioning to just about any event on the calendar. Mike organizes annual trips to the Performance Center for GGC to drive the latest ///M cars as well as meet & greets with the BMW Race Teams at Laguna Seca and can be found at many events across the area.
Aleksey Kadukin
Secretary
Technical Sessions Coordinator
Aleksey became a BMW fan after getting a ride in a beautiful blue E30 a long time ago when dinosaurs walked the Earth. Several years after, he got his first BMW (E36) which let him hang out with some cool kids. One of them introduced Aleksey to the loud world of motorsport and the first race they attended was a spectacular battle of E46 M3 GTR vs Porsche which BMW won easily. That solidified Aleksey’s interest in the brand, and soon after he discovered the most important community in his life: BMW CCA Golden Gate Chapter! Joined in 2003 and tried every activity club offered, Aleksey was so fascinated with the experience, so he joined the chapter board in the role of Technical Sessions Coordinator and became Secretary later. These days you could find Aleksey at social events, car shows, occasional track days, and virtually if you tag us on Instagram with #ggcbmwcca (because Aleksey is running the chapter’s account too)!
Tamara Hull
Treasurer
Driving Events Coordinator
Tammi joined GGC a long time ago in a BMW far, far away. Actually, it was 1987 (pre internet) and her first BMW was a 1978 530i and she was very, very young. She dived in deep, joining the GGC board in 1988, becoming GGC president in 1991 and then again in 2011, newsletter editor in 1992, co-chairing the BMW CCA Oktoberfest in 1993, served on the CCA national board as treasurer from 1995 to 1999, and started club racing that 1978 530i in 1998. She built a couple of E30 M3 racecars, an E36 racecar, and started the BMW CCA Foundation. She attended a lot of Oktoberfests, became a club racing official, married another GGCer, and their son is a GGCer too. Also serves as GGC’s driving events coordinator. She has a lifetime of stories about GGC and CCA, and is always open to doing things better.
Bill Broeder
Membership Chair
Bill has been involved with BMWCCA since around 1990. His BMW affliction started with a 1971 2002 with a bad transmission. He ended up cycling through 13 different 2002s and has owned 26 different BMWs. His favorite BMW is his current one which is a 1995 M3 lightweight. Growing up in the SF Bay Area, he has always enjoyed driving the backroads to and from the coast or driving the foothills of the Sierra. Bill can often be seen chatting up the benefits of the BMW Car Club of America at Cars and Coffees, track days, and other events.

Tyler Macdonald
Communications Director
Tyler is the first of his bloodline to see and envision cars as something more than a utility for getting from A to B. When he got his first a 2000 BMW 328Ci at 17, he discovered the true exhilaration and pleasure that cars could bring. For Tyler, it wasn't just about chasing ultimate speed or scrutinizing spec sheets; it was about embracing the love and joy of the driving experience itself.
His passion for cars is large enough for a lifetime. Tyler hopes to foster a sense of camaraderie among fellow BMW enthusiasts. Through his involvement with BMW CCA, he aims to connect like-minded enthusiasts. Together, they can celebrate their collective passion and create lasting memories on the open road.
Martin Umeh
Member at Large
Martin joined the club in 2005, first underperforming at a car control clinic and subsequently, multiple HPDE events. Despite his lackluster driving skills and his weakness for cars with misplaced engines, he has gone on to become a reviled car control and track school instructor with the club, and joined the board in 2019. He is excited to bring his “sour” approach to being involved in planning for the future of the club.
Ryan Rich
Member at Large
Autocross & Car Control Clinic Program Manager
Ryan’s first experience with the Golden Gate Chapter was in 2006 with our Autocross program and then shortly after, a Teen Car Control Clinic. He immediately fell in love with not only the driving, but all the wonderful people. Fast forward to now and he has worn many hats in the chapter and loves it just as much as when he first started. He loves chatting with members, so feel free to say ‘hi’!

Area Representatives
Bryan Haas
North Bay
Bryan joined GGC in 2013 shortly before attending his first car control clinic, which promptly led him to autocross and High Performance Driving Events. Bryan has been attending cars and coffee since joining and began hosting them for the North Bay in 2017.
Cameron Colyer
East Bay
I've been a member since 2012 when I got my first BMW E24. My dad actually was the one that signed me up for the club as a gift when I got my car because he's been a member for like 30+ years. My first CCA event was East Bay Cars N Coffee in 2013, and I've been going to events ever since.
Jeff Cowan
Peninsula
Jeff became a BMW fan as a teenager when his dad brought home a 14 year old 1973 2002. Jeff eventually bought his own 1973 2002 and with it, began to autocross and attend as many BMW CCA HPDE track schools as he could afford. Jeff became a volunteer instructor for GGC Car Control Clinics and the HPDE programs and developed his love for ///M cars. In his 35+ years with the club, he served on the GGC board and three terms on the National board as the Pacific Region Vice President.
Eric Chung
San Francisco
I joined the CCA in 2018, Having grown up in a community where service and choosing a side was just part of life, it was a choice between BMW, Audi, and Mercedes. And to this day it's not a decision I would want to redo. The car cruises alone have been one of my more favored events on the calendar as it brings everyone together and allows new and younger members to really get a feel of how our cars and camraderie make all the difference. Having also worked at Bay Area BMW dealerships, being apart of the CCA also gives me the opportunity to help others make sense of any questions or concerns they might have of investing more money into a program, that others may not be too certain of. Whether it's an issue about a model older than the E46 or newer than a F36, everyone is treated like family here.
